Four Must-dos Before Your Next Motorhome Trip

If you are in the middle of planning your first camping trip using your motorhome make sure to complete the four steps below before hitting the road. Following this advice which is proven will ensure that your vacation goes off smoothly without a hitch, no pun intended.

Have your RV Serviced before hitting the Road

Before you hit the highway or the campground, make sure that your RV ready for the trip by having it serviced by experts. If your vehicle is brand-new, this first step is unnecessary if you purchased a used RV or it’s been awhile since your motorhome last traveled, employ a professional mechanic. You dont want to end
up on the side of the road!

Prepare the Cabin of your RV

Put clean sheets and bedding onto the beds of your motorhome. Unless you want to purchase linens that are used only for your camper, you can make do with the linens that are used in your home. The vast majority of RV beds do not need custom linens; comforters and standard sheets work fine. It’s also wise to take along
an extra set of a few spare blankets as well as sheets, depending on the time of year. You also should make sure to pack your sleeping bags. Who knows, right? You and your family may opt to sleep under the stars it’s especially cold-you could curl up in your sleeping bags and snooze under the covers.

Assemble the Kitchen Supplies

Before you head onto the open road, make sure that your kitchen is filled with all supplies that are necessary for the trip. Campgrounds have limited inventories in their convenience shops on the premises, however, they are usually
expensive. It’s best to purchase food that is sufficient for your entire trip before you go. Do take the time to plan for beverages and snacks as well. It’s also a good idea to pack enough for one or two extra guests in case you meet up with friends or make new ones in the campground.

Eating utensils are a must need to be included. To cut costs, pack your dishes, glassware, and silverware from home. As an alternative, you could purchase an inexpensive, lightweight set of plates and silverware only for your motorhome, or you may use disposable (or better yet, recyclable) paper and plastic products. When packing
these items, consider the foods you have planned for the trip. Are there any particular kitchen utensils you will be needed, like a pair of tongs or a can opener? Don’t forget those paper towels!

Stock the Bathroom.

Be sure to stock your bathroom with sundries, such as toilet paper, toothbrushes, shampoo, toothpaste, and soap, especially if you’re arranging a camping trip. You’ll want to take along a first aid kit as well. You might wish to create a checklist of items for the kitchen and the bathroom. That way you’ll be less likely to overlook an essential item.
It’s also a good idea to pack a towel and one washcloth per person for every day of your trip. Even though you might have to use the laundry facility, you don’t need to spend hours and hours of your holiday there every day.

If you follow this advice, you’ll be well-prepared for your trip. Just be sure to allow yourself at least a week to prepare and pack your motorhome in advance. This will ensure your motorhome camping trip will be a pleasant experience.
